In this PIL the petitioner prayed that the Bar Council of West Bengal be directed to reserve seats for advocates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes community in the ensuing election of Bar Council of West Bengal.

In our opinion, this is a question between the advocates, who are enrolled in the Bar Council and the election mechanism of Bar Council.

No larger public interest is involved. Thus, PIL is not entertained. Accordingly, this PIL is dismissed. Liberty is reserved to the petitioner to file appropriate proceeding.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merit.
