Mr. Moniruzzaman, Mr. Jahangir Badsha ...for the Petitioner Mr. Srijan Nayak, Ms. Rituparna Maitra ...for WBSEDCL 10-04-2025 AKG Ct. 15 The petitioner alleges that the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) is issuing exorbitant electricity bills for the supply to his submersible pump set without taking actual meter readings. It is submitted that the petitioner has made a representation before the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer (RGRO), Purba Bardhaman, which has not yet been disposed of.

It is submitted by WBSEDCL that the petitioner is a habitual defaulter and is not even recognised as a registered consumer. As of January 2, 2025, an amount of ₹2,16,739/- is allegedly due and payable by the petitioner. Consequently, the electricity connection in question has already been disconnected.

In view of the above, and considering that the matter is presently pending before the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer (RGRO), Purba Bardhaman, I am not inclined to enter

into the merits of the dispute at this stage. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer, Purba Bardhaman, to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter.

WPA 1500 of 2025 is disposed of.
