Learned counsel for the respondents submits that alternative accommodation could not be granted to the patta holders in compliance with the earlier order passed by this Court on October 04, 1996 in Civil Order No. 10179(W) of 1996 due to non-availability of the required land of about 7.5 acres.

It is not acceptable that an order passed by this Court in 1996 has not been complied with by the authority till date and in 2023 the authority comes up with a plea that sufficient land is not available.

As a last chance the concerned authority being the 7th respondent herein is directed to comply with the order dated October 04, 1996 in Civil Order No. 10179(W) of 1996 within February 29, 2024.

Let this matter appear under the same heading on March 06, 2024.
