10-04-2025 AKG Ct. 15 It is the grievance of the petitioner that, despite having complied with all requisite formalities, including the payment of the prescribed fees, CESC Ltd. has failed to provide an electricity connection to his residential premises located at 25, Lalbahadur Shastri Street, P.O. & P.S. - Sreerampur, District Hooghly.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of CESC Ltd. submits that the connection could not be effected due to resistance from some local residents. However, it is submitted that CESC Ltd. is otherwise willing and is in the process to provide the electricity connection.

Despite due service, respondent no. 4 is not present at the time of hearing.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon respondent nos. 1 and 2 to ensure the electricity connection is effected at the petitioner's premises

within a period of one month from the date of this order. Respondent nos. 1 and 2 shall be at liberty to seek necessary assistance from the Officer-in-Charge of Sreerampur Police Station for the purpose of implementing this order, and the petitioner shall bear the costs associated with such police assistance.

Accordingly, WPA 1455 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
