Mr. Lutful Haque, Mr. Raju Bhattacharyya, Advocates ... for the respondent Nos.12 to 14 Mr. Sauvik Nandy, Advocate ... for the respondent No.4/NCTE In this public interest petition the petitioner, who is claiming himself to be a social worker, has questioned the right of the respondent Nos.12 to 14 to run the Teachers' Training College. The allegation is that respondent Nos.12 to 14 are running the college in complete derogation of the statutory provision and without complying with the necessary norms.

Learned counsel for the respondent Nos.12 to 14 has raised the preliminary objection about the maintainability of the writ petition, but this Court need not go into that because learned counsel for the respondent No.4 (NCTE) has informed this Court that in 308th virtual meeting of Eastern Regional Committee (E.R.C.) held on 2nd September, 2022 the issue relating to the fulfillment of norms by the respondent Nos.12 to 14 has been considered by the E.R.C. and several

WPA(P) 27 of 2022 deficiencies have been found. Therefore the respondent Nos.12 to 14 have been issued show-cause notice under Section 17 of the NCTE Act, 1993 and they have been granted time to submit the reply within a period of 21 days from the date of issuance of the show-cause notice for withdrawal of recognition on the grounds of deficiencies. He submits that if the reply is not received within time, appropriate action as provided under the NCTE Act, 1993 will be taken.

In view of the fact that the respondent No.4 has already initiated action against the respondent Nos.12 to 14, we are of the opinion at this stage no further direction in the present petition is required, which is accordingly disposed of by taking note of the stand of the respondent No.4.
