Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The petitioners want to perform Puja of Lord Ram on 22nd January, 2024 on a land belonging to an individual from whom they have already taken prior permission. However, the police authorities are not granting them permission to hold the said Puja.

Learned senior standing counsel representing the State submits that an application for holding such Puja was received by the police only yesterday. If the petitioners had already taken permission from the landlord, they shall be entitled to hold any such Puja subject to adherence to the prevailing laws. It appears that the petitioners had obtained permission from the owner of the land to hold the Puja of Lord Ram on 22nd January, 2024.

Let the respondent authorities permit the petitioners to hold such Puja on such date.

However, the petitioners and the parties shall abide by all necessary norms regarding sound regulations, if any loud speakers is used and other prevailing laws.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. Parties shall act on a server copy downloaded from the official website of this Court.
