Mr. Tirthankar Dey Mr. Arkaprava Ghosh ..for the Petitioner Mr. Amitabrata Roy Mr. Arkadipta Sengupta ..for the University 29-01-2024 AKG Ct. 238 The only ground on which the renewal of affiliation of the College is declined is that the College does not possess the required Fire Safety Certificate from the Director General of Fire and Emergency Services, West Bengal.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had applied for Fire Safety Certificate on 13th September, 2023, following which a favourable recommendation was made by the Divisional Fire Officer, Paschim Medinipur on 17th October, 2023. However, till date the Fire Safety Certificate has not been granted.

In view of above facts, I dispose of this writ petition giving a direction upon the University that the link for affiliation shall be sent to the College within forty eight hours from date. Upon production of the required documents, the University will grant affiliation to the College without insisting on the Fire Safety Certificate.

The University shall also send the necessary link for fee payment required for the renewal of affiliation. Subject to the deposit of such fees, the affiliation of the College shall be renewed with the condition that the College must produce the Fire Safety Certificate before the University within a period of three months from date, positively.

With the aforesaid direction WPA 1337 of 2024 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
