Petitioner contends there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. He submits he is in custody for over one year and nine months. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits petitioner is the husband of the victim lady. Victim lady was murdered. On the leading statement of the petitioner, her body was recovered.

We have considered the materials on record.

Petitioner is the husband of the victim lady. She was murdered. On his leading statement, her body was recovered. Trial is in progress and four witnesses have been examined.

Under such circumstances and in view of gravity of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of petitioner is rejected.
