1. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept on record.

2. The petitioner applied for industrial connection, which has not been given to the petitioner by the WBSEDCL, which is the grievance in the writ petition.

3. Learned counsel for the WBSEDCL submits that the petitioner previously applied for commercial connection, which was given to the petitioner on December 27, 2023.

However, to get an industrial connection at the same premises, the petitioner is required to surrender the commercial connection.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is agreeable to do so.

5. Accordingly, WPA No. 1375 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the petitioner to apply

for surrendering the existing commercial connection at the premises-in-question within a week from date. If such a surrender application is made, the same shall be processed by the WBSEDCL within a week thereafter.

6. Upon compliance of all formalities by the petitioner in that regard, the WBSEDCL shall disconnect the commercial connection of the petitioner and take consequential steps.

Simultaneously, however, the WBSEDCL shall also give industrial connection to the petitioner, subject to compliance of all formalities in that regard by the petitioner.

7. The entire exercise shall be completed within an outer limit of three weeks from date.

8. There will be no order as to costs.

9. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
