W.P.A. 814 of 2020 (Gopal Das & Ors. vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.) Mr. Somnath Ghoshal Mr. Debasish Bhattacharya .... For the Petitioners Mr. Sumit Kr. Panja Mr. Sumit Ray .... For the WBSEDCL Mr. Narayan Ch. Bhattacharyya Ms. Sujata Ghosh .... For the State The grievance of the petitioners is directed against the non fixation of wages on the basis of the representation dated 16th September, 2019. By an order dated 18th March, 2021 passed by this Court it was recorded that the State respondents have taken appropriate steps in respect of the grievances of the petitioners and a notice dated 11th November, 2020 has already been issued calling for a meeting with the agenda 'Demand of Contractual Workers of WBSEDCL for categorisation and Fixation of Wages'. It is fairly submitted on behalf of the petitioners that in view of the steps which has already been taken by the State respondents nothing survives in this writ petition.

The respondents are represented and submit that they have no objection if a time frame be fixed for the grievances of the petitioner to be considered and finally resolved. In view of the submissions made on behalf of the parties, W.P.A. 814 of 2020 is disposed of by directing the concerned

respondents to finally resolve the grievances of the petitioner within a period of three months from date after giving a right of hearing to all the parties. It is made clear that nothing in this order will influence the State respondents in so far as the merits of the case is concerned. The State respondents are directed to act in accordance with law and dispose of the demand of the petitioner within the aforesaid time frame.

Since no affidavit in opposition has been filed by the respondents, the allegations contained in this petition are not admitted.

There shall be no order as to costs.
