Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 280 days and the evidence of the victim being over, further detention of the present petitioner is unwarranted.

Learned advocate for the State submits that the petitioner had been evading the process of law for a considerable period of time. There are other vulnerable witnesses to be examined in this case.

Learned advocate for the de facto complainant is present and opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the materials which are appearing against the present petitioner and the deposition of the victim before

the learned trial court, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage.

Accordingly, CRM(M)231 of 2026 is dismissed at this stage.
