Case No. 1749 of 2016 is pending for more than seven years and till date the case has reached only to the stage of crossexamination of the first prosecution witness. It has been informed that the prosecution has relied upon as many as six witnesses in order to prove its case. Having considered the time which has already elapsed, I direct the ld. ACJM, Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, who is in seisin of the matter, to fix at least one date in every month so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties and in spite of any resolution of the Bar, the trial of the case would continue in case any witness is present in court.

It has also been informed that the prayer in respect of renewal of the passport made on behalf of the petitioner is pending, the ld. Trial court would dispose of the same on the next date so fixed i.e. 28.3.2024.

All efforts be taken by the parties to conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 310 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Report so submitted be kept with the record.
