Petitioner seeks bail.

Learned Senior Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 168 days. The police filed charge-sheet and, therefore, further detention of the petitioner is not required. He submits that some of the co-accused were granted bail on October 6, 2020 in CRM 7578 of 2020.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner was absconding for more than 10 years. He submits that the other co-accused who was granted bail was of advanced age and was suffering from various ailments.

Considering the conduct of the petitioner in remaining absconding for a period of 10 years and considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. C.R.M. (DB) 249 of 2022 is dismissed.
