Petitioner seeks bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was not named in the First Information Report. The petitioner is in custody for 228 days. The police filed charge-sheet.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner was involved in the incident of gang rape. He draws the attention of the Court to the statements recorded under Section 161 and 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the victim. He also draws the attention of the Court to the seizure list.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

C.R.M.(DB) 263 of 2022 is rejected.
