1. The petitioner was granted bail by an order dated January 24, 2024, inter alia, on the conditions that he shall not enter the jurisdiction of Uttarpara police station, except for the purpose of investigation and that he shall report to the Officer-in-Charge of the police station within whose jurisdiction he shall presently reside once in a week until further orders.
2. The petitioner now seeks relaxation of the said conditions of bail. He says that his residence is within the jurisdiction of Uttarpara police station and he has not visited his residence for almost two years now.
3. The State files a report. Let the same be kept with the records. We find from the report that the petitioner has been complying with the bail conditions.
4. From what we are told, it does not appear that the trial is likely to conclude on an early date. Hence, given that the petitioner has been adhering to the bail conditions scrupulously, we are inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer.
5. Accordingly, the condition restraining the petitioner from entering the jurisdiction of Uttarpara police station is waived.
6. He may now report to the Officer-in-Charge of the Uttarpara police station once every month instead of once every week.
7. The other conditions of bail shall remain unaltered.
8. CRAN 4 of 2024 is, thus, disposed of.
9. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 10.
Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
