1. The petitioner prays for consideration of his representation which was filed in December, 2023 objecting to the grant of license for running country liquor shop.

2. Without entering into the merits of the objection raised by the petitioner, and as it appears that, the same is pending consideration before the authority for a considerable period of time, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Rural) Diamond Harbour Office being the respondent no. 4 herein to consider and dispose of the representation made by the petitioner in accordance with law after giving a reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties.

3. Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

4. A reasoned order shall be passed by the aforesaid respondent and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

5. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation along with all supporting documents

to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of this Court.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
