1. The petitioner complains that a sum of Rs. Ab 6,38,428/- (rupees six lakhs thirty eight thousand four hundred and twenty eight only) along with interest is due and owing to the petitioner from the respondent, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (in short 'WBSEDCL'), on account of certain works done by the petitioner.

2. It is submitted that several representations have been made by the petitioner to the State Authorities, but none of them has been considered and the above amount has not been paid.

3. Learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the WBSEDCL submits that whatever was due and payable to the petitioner has been paid to the petitioner and the petitioner's claim is disputed.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the view that since the

petitioner has made representations before the respondent authorities, it would be proper for the respondent authorities to consider and dispose of the representations of the petitioner, in accordance with law.

5. It is therefore directed that a competent authority of the respondent no, 2, WBSEDCL, shall consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated December 1, 2024 (Annexure- 'P7' at pages 128 to 129 to the writ petition), in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

6. It is clarified that this Court has not gone into the merits of the petitioner's claim and refutation thereof by the respondent and this order shall neither be treated as a mandate to make any payment to the petitioner nor a passport to crossover any statutory bar of limitation.

7. Needless to mention that the said authority shall dispose of the petitioner's representation within the aforesaid period by way of reasoned order and shall communicate the same to the petitioner within a week from the date of passing such order.

8. WPA 1788 of 2025 stands disposed of with the above observations.
