It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that in respect of the acquisition proceedings of the land, the requiring authorities had released the land as far back as in 30th July, 2013.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay, appearing on behalf of the respondent authorities had filed a report which is being served on the petitioners inter alia, recording that the entire compensation in respect of the subject premises is lying deposited with the appropriate authorities. The requiring authorities are also represented. Learned counsel appearing for the requiring authorities relies on a letter dated 11th March, 2016 to contend that they are in possession of the subject premises.

The petitioners now seek to assail the report filed on behalf of the State.

In view of the fact that there is nothing on record to assail the report filed by the State, there is no purpose in keeping this writ petition alive.

Accordingly, in view of the subsequent events W.P.A. 1922 of 2021 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioners to file appropriate proceedings with all necessary particulars and averments in accordance with law challenging the report filed on behalf of the State.

W.P.A. 1922 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
