The petitioner is facing trial under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code in connection with Gurap P. S. Case No. 114 of 2011. More than 12 years have passed since the initiation of the present case and till date the evidence is in progress. Report submitted by Mr. Ganguly, learned advocate for the State be kept with the record.

Report reflects that on 16th /17th August, 2023, the learned trial court has fixed date for recording evidence of CSW 1, 2, 3 4, 6, 8 & 9. The learned trial court will take efforts for completing the evidence of such witnesses in the month of August, 2023. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would cooperate with the trial court in respect of production of materials, exhibits and documents in the case concerned. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties.

Since the case is continuing for the last 12 years, all efforts

be taken to conclude the trial by 31st July, 2024. With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 232 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.
