The lands of the petitioners have been acquired in L.A. Case No. NH - 01 of 2016-17.

The petitioners complain that although compensation has been determined upon publication of the award but till date the compensation amount has not been disbursed in favour of the petitioners. Mr. Subir Pal, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the State respondents files a report of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Paschim Medinipur, the respondent no. 8 herein, which is taken on record. It appears from the said report that the payment of compensation could not be made to the awardees as the authorities are now verifying the share, area and possession of the respective awardees.

W.P.A. 2001 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 8 to disburse the compensation

amount of the petitioners within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of communication of this order. Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been invited the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

No order as to costs.
