The grievance of the petitioners is that the award in LA Case No. NH-01 of 16-17 although has been published on February 18, 2019 and the petitioners pursuant to the direction of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, the respondent no. 8 herein, have already furnished the details of their respective bank accounts for remittance of the awarded sum but till date no payment has been made to them.

Mr. Chandi Charan De, learned Additional Govt. Pleader appears on behalf of the State respondents and files the report of the said respondent no. 8 dated January 27, 2021 which is taken on record.

On perusal the said report, it appears that the payment to the petitioners could not be made since the verification of the share, area, possession etc. of the respective awardees is under investigation.

WPA 2007 of 2021 is disposed of with the direction upon the respondent no. 8 to expedite the aforementioned investigations and to make payment to the petitioners in terms of the award within eight weeks from date of communication of this order.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been invited, allegations made in the writ petition against the respondents are deemed to have been denied.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance of all requisite formalities.
