The petitioner claims to be an "OBC-A" candidate in the State List but not in the Central List. The petitioner relies on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) contained in a Notification of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions dated 19th September, 2022 whereby the petitioner claims certain rights. The pleadings in the writ petition are to the effect that despite the petitioner visiting the office of the SubDivisional Officer, Rampurhat Sub-Division on 14th December, 2022; the petitioner's application was not accepted or received for consideration.

Upon considering the relevant Notification, WPA 1710 of 2023 is disposed of with a direction on the respondent no. 4 being the Sub-Divisional Officer,

Rampurhat, Birbhum to consider the application made by the petitioner on 2nd January, 2023 and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order after hearing the petitioner. A copy of the reasoned order shall be made available to the petitioners by 20th February, 2023.
