Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1195 days. He draws the attention of the Court to the injury report.
Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. He submits that the evidence of the victim girl is fixed on February 18, 2022.
Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as transpiring from the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code and considering the fact that the evidence of the victim girl is fixed on February 18, 2022, we deem it appropriate not to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. C.R.M. (DB) 292 of 2022 is dismissed.
