The petitioner claims that he was serving as a tax collector in the Haipur Gram Panchayet, P.S. Contai, District - Purba Medinipur from June, 1999 onwards on commission basis.

The petitioner alleges that presently the Panchayet authority is not providing him the receipts and accordingly he cannot collect the tax from the tax payers. The petitioner had applied before the Sub-Divisional Officer praying for redressal of his grievances. It appears from records that the Sub-Divisional Officer, Contai by Memo No. 661/G dated 28th June, 2019 followed by reminder being Memo No. 860/G dated 16th August, 2019 requested the Block Development Officer, Contai - I Block to submit an enquiry report as regards the petition filed by the petitioner.

The petitioner complains that the said report has not been submitted by the Block Development Officer to the Sub-Divisional Officer till date.

As it appears from the Block Development Officer has already been directed to enquire into the matter and submit a report before the Sub-Divisional Officer accordingly the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No. 7 being the Block Development Officer, Contai - I Block to enquire into the grievances raised by the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order and forward the enquiry report to the Sub-Divisional Officer. The SubDivisional Officer shall take necessary steps in the matter, strictly in accordance with law, immediately thereafter. It is made clear that this Court has not decided the claim of the petitioner and all points are left open to be decided by the respondent authorities after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

WPA 1034 of 2020 stands disposed of.
