Mr. Tapas Kumar Dey ...for the State The writ petition is directed against an order dated December 21, 2022, Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that State was taking numerous adjournments on the plea of filing the reply. State is unnecessarily delaying the disposal of the Original Application. He seeks a direction for expeditious disposal of the Original Application. He submits on instruction that the next date is fixed on September 11, 2023.

Learned Senior Advocate appearing for the State submits on instructions that the reply to the Original Application will be filed within four weeks from date.

The Original Application was filed in the early part of 2022. State is yet to file a reply in such Original Application. Time to file reply in the Original Application is granted peremptorily for a period of four weeks from date.

The learned Tribunal is requested to endeavour and dispose of the Original Application on September 11, 2023 and if not possible then within six weeks thereafter without granting any unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties.

W.P.S.T. 16 of 2023 is disposed of accordingly.
