The petitioner complains that the Burwan Police, at the instance of the private respondents, is preventing him from entering his residence.

Counsel for the State has produced a report in the form of instructions dated 13th February, 2022, issued by the Officer-in-Charge, Burwan Police Station, Murshidabad addressed to the learned Government Pleader, Calcutta High Court and the same is taken on record.

It is submitted that there are at least eleven cases pending against the petitioner, of which three are under Section 302 of the IPC. The cases have been registered by the Burwan Police Station, Kandi Police Station, Bharatpur Police Station and Suti Police Station. It is submitted that the petitioner is absconding. In view of the above, this Court cannot disbelieve the submissions of the Counsel for the State, that the petitioner seeks the presence of the police along with

him near his residence, to mislead the public at large that the administration is with him.

The writ petition is hereby dismissed.

There shall be no order as to costs.
