Kausik (Rejected) CRM (NDPS) 181 of 2026 In Re: An Application for Bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023/ Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 in connection with Islampur Police Station Case No. 399/2024 dated 18.07.2024 under Sections 21(c)/25/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985.

Ms. Sreyashee Biswas Ms. Pritha Paul ......for the State.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year and 7 months and pursuant to the earlier direction two seizure list witnesses have already been examined.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that huge quantity of Phensedyl were recovered and so far as the evidence of the seizure list witnesses are concerned, the same corroborates the prosecution case.

Having considered the same, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Learned Trial Court would expedite the process of trial.

Consequently, CRM (NDPS) 181 of 2026 is dismissed. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
