Mr. Bidyut Kumar Halder, Mr. Indranil Halder ...for the Petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ...for CESC 16-04-2025 AKG Ct. 15 The petitioner seeks an electricity connection for his shop room located at 107, Diamond Harbour Road, Kali Bazar, Khidderpore, Kolkata - 700023.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of CESC Ltd. submits that there are approximately 300 shop rooms in the said premises, and, owing to technical constraints, it is not feasible to provide separate electricity connections to each individual unit.

However, it is submitted that the petitioner may obtain an electricity connection either through the existing block meter standing in the name of one Gopal Shaw or, alternatively, he may apply for a separate block meter in his own name, subject to technical feasibility.

In view of the aforesaid submission made on behalf of CESC Ltd., the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon CESC Ltd. to consider the petitioner's prayer for installation of a block meter in his name, subject to the

petitioner complying with all necessary formalities and subject to technical feasibility.

In the event a separate block meter cannot be installed in the name of the petitioner, he shall be at liberty to obtain electricity supply through the existing block meter. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. Accordingly, WPA 1929 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
