Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that, on the allegation that the petitioner had not paid electricity bills, his meter was disconnected and the meter has subsequently been removed from the property.

Learned counsel appearing for the WBSEDCL submits that irrespective of the petitioner's challenge before the RGRO, since there were instances of nonpayment of regular electricity bills, the electricity meter was disconnected and the contract has now been terminated automatically.

In such view of the matter, I find no irregularity in the WBSEDCL charging late payment surcharge (LPSC), in terms of the extant regulations.

Hence, there is no scope of interference in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, WPA 1889 of 2023 is dismissed without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
