Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was falsely implicated. He refers to the first information report. He submits that the incident arose out of a political rivalry. He submits that the police filed charge-sheet and, therefore, custodial interrogation of the petitioner are not required.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the materials in the case diary. He submits that the petitioner is named in the charge-sheet. The petitioner was absconding. He submits that there are statements recorded under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicating the petitioner. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner as appearing from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM (A) 536 of 2022 is rejected.
