He apprehends that his client may not receive local assistance from the local Bar. Accordingly, he prays for confirmation of interim bail. Petitioner was enlarged on interim bail by the learned magistrate at Barrackpore. It is open to the learned magistrate to consider the issue of confirmation of bail in accordance with law. Petitioner is directed to appear before the magistrate within seven days from date and the magistrate shall dispose of the bail application within a fortnight thereof on merits. Learned magistrate shall ensure that the learned lawyer representing the petitioner is able to present his case in accordance with law without interference from any other agency. With the aforesaid observation, CRM (DB) 657 of 2023 is disposed of.
