The affidavit-of-service and the communicated dated March 17, 2026 filed by the learned counsel for the petitioner be kept with the record.

2. In spite of service of notice none appears on behalf of the respondents.

3. The petitioner has made an application under Right to Information Act before the CPIO for certain information. The CPIO failed to provide the said information. Accordingly, the petitioner has filed the first appeal before the first appellate authority. The first appellate authority by an order dated January 9, 2026 directed the CPIO to provide the information to the appellant within seven days.

4. The petitioner submits that in spite of specific direction passed by the first appellate authority, the CPIO has not provided the information as applied for by the petitioner. The petitioner has also filed an appeal before the Central Information Commission on January 19, 2026. The Central Information Commission has also not taken into consideration of the appeal filed by the petitioner.

Considering the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court finds that the petitioner made an application under Right to Information Act but the information has not provided. Subsequently, the petitioner has filed an appeal and in the appeal the first appellate authority categorically directed the CPIO to provide the document within a week but in spite of the direction passed by the first appellate authority the CPIO has failed to provide the same.

6. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to provide the information in terms of the order passed by the first appellate authority within a week from the date of receipt of this order.

7. WPA 1883 of 2026 is disposed of.

8. Urgent Xerox certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
