Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent Corporation submits that the personnel of the respondent Corporation had gone to the premises of the petitioner to carry out the inspection and provide him such electric connection but they were resisted, obstructed and hindered by the private respondents and locals. None appears on behalf of the private respondents despite service.

In view of the fact that this is an essential service which the petitioner seeks and subject to complying with all statutory formalities the respondent no. 1 is directed to provide a new electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner.

In carrying out the aforesaid exercise (including inspection) the respondent no. 3 being the Inspector-inCharge, Domjur Police Station, Howrah is directed to give all necessary police assistance to the representatives of the WBSEDCL.

It is made clear the petitioner will bear all statutory costs (including costs of police assistance) as mandated in law.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA No. 2333 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. It is made clear that the petitioner will comply with all statutory formalities as mandated by law. (Ravi Krishan Kapur,J)
