The petitioners do not appear and are not represented before the Court and have not applied for video link.

This being a Public Interest Litigation we have heard learned Counsel for the contesting respondent in the State Administration and we are inclined to dispose of the matter without entering into the merits or calling for affidavits.

The complaint of the petitioners is that certain unauthorized construction activities are going on and that have to be prevented.

Learned Counsel for the State is justified in pointing out that the competent authority may consider that complaint with reference to the relevant facts. For the aforesaid reason, this writ petition is ordered by directing the respondent no.8, Block Land

and Land Reforms Officer (BL & LRO) to look into the matter and substance of the complaint and take requisite action as may be found necessary. If any further interference of the 5th respondent, District Magistrate, is necessary, the 8th respondent, BL & LRO will address the District Magistrate accordingly. The writ petition is disposed of without entering into the merits. Let the exercise be completed by the 8th respondent within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order along with a copy of this writ petition.

The petitioners shall make available a copy of this order and a copy of the writ petition to the 8th respondent, BL & LRO as well as the 5th respondent, District Magistrate.

WPA 1235 of 2020 along with IA No: CAN 1 of 2020 (CAN 4754 of 2020) are accordingly disposed of. (Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, CJ.) (Arijit Banerjee, J.)
