The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in issuing the appointment letter to the petitioner in respect of the post of 'Panchayat Karmee'. In a recruitment process which was initiated sometime in 2016, the petitioner participated in the recruitment process. Although the petitioner fared well in the written examination as also in the interview, the petitioner alleges that the persons who had obtained lower marks than the petitioner, were appointed.

A report has been filed by the State respondents with the details. The report is taken on record.

It appears from the said report that the petitioner did not qualify for the post. The last qualifying candidate for the post in question in the Scheduled Caste category got 36.68 marks in the written test and 3.25 in the viva-voce test, i.e., 39.93 in total, which was greater than the marks obtained by the petitioner. The petitioner got 21.37 marks in the written test and 7 in the viva-voce test, i.e., 28.37 in total.

Thus, the allegation of appointing a person who had got lesser marks than the petitioner, is not correct. Thus, no further interference is called for.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of without any orders.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
