Mr. Krishna Pada Santra ....for the petitioner 1) Learned advocate representing the petitioner has filed affidavit of service enclosing notice which was served upon learned advocate representing State respondents in terms of order dated 2nd April, 2025. Same is taken on record. 2) In spite of service of notice, State respondents are not represented today.

3) Petitioner is a retired Assistant Teacher, who superannuated on 31st May, 2016. Due to superannuation of petitioner, first Pension Payment Order was issued on 6th April, 2016 and as per first Pension Payment Order disbursement of retiral dues was made in favour of the petitioner. Subsequently, due to revision of pay as per ROPA 2019 revised Pension Payment Order was issued on 15th February, 2021. Petitioner claims interest on revised gratuity as per revised Pension Payment Order due to delayed payment. 4) Accordingly, the Director of Pension Provident Fund and Group Insurance and the concerned Treasury Officer are directed to pay interest at the rate of 8% per annum to petitioner on revised gratuity as per revised pension payment order from 14th February, 2020 till the date of actual disbursement of the revised gratuity amount in favour of the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

5) Since no affidavit is called for, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. 6) With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.

7) There shall be no order as to costs.

8) Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
