Sl.9 10.02.2026 Court No.19 BP WPA 2270 of 2026 Saiyad Ajijul Hossain -versus- The State of West Bengal and others Mr. Golam Mastafa Mr. Tarasankar Samanta Ms. Parnashree Samanta ..for the petitioner Ms. Mousumi Chowdhury Mr. Milan Kumar Maity ..for the State Mr. Uttam Kumar Bhattacharyya ..for the respondent nos. 3, 4 and 5 The petitioner claims to have submitted a representation before the authorities of Purba Medinipur Zilla Parishad praying for considering his case for grant of long term lease pursuant to a liberty being granted by a Co-ordinate Bench by an order dated 25th March, 2025 in WPA 27120 of 2024.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that pursuant to the liberty granted by the Coordinate Bench, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 13th May, 2025 but till date the decision on such representation has not been communicated to the petitioner.

The learned advocate appearing for the Zilla Parishad submits that a decision has already been taken by the Zila Parishad rejecting the claim of the petitioner

for grant of long term lease. However, such decision has not yet been communicated to the petitioner.

In view thereof, WPA 2270 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the authorities of the Purba Medinipur Zilla Parishad to communicate the decision taken by the Zilla Parishad on the prayer made by the petitioner for grant of long term lease on or before February 24, 2026. If the petitioner is aggrieved by such decision, it will be open to the petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

There shall be however no order as to costs.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
