The petitioner is a retired Assistant Teacher of a Higher Secondary School. The petitioner is alleging that he has deposited a sum of Rs. 82,882/- in excess in his provident fund account to switch over from CPF Scheme to GPF Scheme and is praying refund of the said amount with interest.

It appears that the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Kolkata, the respondent no. 2 herein by the impugned memo bearing No. 423/1(2)/Law dated September 14, 2023 has held that the school authority had calculated the refundable amount along with interest and additional interest in terms G.O. No. 749 - SE, dated June 13, 2014.

The respondent no. 2 is directed to supply to the petitioner the break-up of the said amount with interest component within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order. W.P.A. 1945 of 2024 is disposed of with the above observations without any order as to costs.
