The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail.

In the present application, there is an order of final assessment. The application was filed on February 2, 2022.On the prayer of the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner, time was granted on February 7, 2022. Thereafter on February 21, 2022 further time was granted to the petitioner to deposit 50% of the final assessment amount. The matter was taken up thereafter on March 4, 2022. Again further time was granted to the petitioner to deposit 50% of the final assessment amount. The petitioner did not pay any amount.

Today, the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner seeks further time. According to us, sufficient time was granted to the petitioner for the purpose of depositing at least 50% of the final assessment bill. The final assessment was done on June 29, 2021.

In view of such conduct of the petitioner, and considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

CRM (A) 574 of 2022 is rejected.
