The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the SubDivisional Officer, Domkal, Murshidabad in not concluding the proceeding to be initiated on the basis of the complaint of the petitioner dated January 25, 2022.

This Court is of the opinion that the allegation against the prescribed authority is baseless.

The petitioner has filed this writ petition challenging inaction, within a week from filing the complaint. The law does not provide any time limit within which the complaint must be disposed of. The prescribed authority being a responsible official of the Government is expected to act with the promptitude and sincerity the issue deserves. In the fear

of a requisition of no-confidence, the petitioner cannot seek a mandamus as prayed for Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
