Plot No. 779 corresponding to L.R. Plot No. 906 and 906/779, J.L. No.102 within Mouza Sahapur under Jamalpur Police Station in the District of Purba Bardhaman has been utilized for the purpose of construction of a concrete road by the Paratal-I Gram Panchayat being the 9th respondent. The petitioner submitted a representation before the Block Development Officer, Jamalpur Block by a letter dated 12th January, 2026 and a reminder letter on 22nd January, 2026. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that in spite of receipt of such representation no decision has been communicated by the Block Development Officer on such representation.

The learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the decision on the representation shall be communicated within the time limit as may be specified by this Court.

In the light of the submissions made by the learned advocates for the respective parties, WPA 2397 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the Block Development Officer, Jamalpur Block, Purba Bardhaman being the 8th respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 14th January, 2026 and 22nd January, 2026 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his representative and communicate the reasoned order to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The entire exercise shall be completed by the 8th respondent as expeditiously as possible but positively by the end of the month of March, 2026. It will be open to the petitioner to produce all materials in support of his claim in respect of the plot in question before the Block Development Officer and all points are left open to be decided by such authority.

There shall be however no order as to costs.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
