The present application has been preferred for expeditious disposal of G.R. Case No. 8648 of 2021 wherein the investigating agency on conclusion of investigation, submitted charge-sheet under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that even though the charge-sheet was prepared in the year 2021 but the same was submitted in the year 2023. The next date has been fixed in the month of August 2024.

It has been submitted on behalf of the private opposite party nos. 2 and 3 that there has already been compliance of the provisions of Section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Accordingly, learned Judicial Magistrate, 3rd

Court, Barrackpore in connection with Barrackpore Women Police Station Case No. 43 dated 29.09.2021 would take steps to complete the process of consideration of charge within one month from the next date so fixed in the month of August 2024. If thereafter, the learned trial court is of the opinion that trial of the case should be proceeded, then in that case the learned trial court would fix one date in every month so that trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties. Learned public prosecutor conducting the case would ensure regarding the production of materials, documents and exhibits on the dates so fixed for examination of the witnesses.

All stakeholders should cooperate with the learned trial court to conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 376 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
