Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that, due to resistance offered by the private respondent nos.3 and 4, the WBSEDCL is being unable to repair the electric connection to the petitioner's premises, which is in dire need of immediate repair for some time now. Learned counsel appearing for the Distribution Licensee supports such contention and submits that the petitioner had already been enjoying the electric connection previously.

However, due to accidental damage, the connection has been severed.

Since the electricity supply line, in some places, goes over the property of the private respondents, the private respondents are raising a furore over the matter. In such view of the matter, since the petitioner is entitled to the repair work to be done by the WBEDCL, WPA 1893 of 2022 is allowed, thereby directing the WBEDCL to immediately effect the necessary repairs to the electric connection which goes to the petitioner's electric meter, within a week from date.

In the event any obstruction is raised to such repair work at any point of time from any quarter, it will be open to the WBEDCL personnel to approach the nearest police station for adequate assistance. If so approached, the Officer-in-Charge/Inspectorin-Charge of the local police station shall immediately give such assistance to the WBEDCL personnel at the cost of the petitioner.

The parties as well as all concerned shall act on the written communication of the learned Advocates for the parties, coupled with server copy of this order, without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy thereof. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
