Affidavit of service filed in Court be taken on record. The grievance of the petitioner is directed against a dispute pertaining to an electric meter in the name of the petitioner. The main bill was for a sum of Rs.1,62,665/-. The petitioner alleges that such bill is unlawful and illegal.

Mr. Mukherjee, Advocate appearing on behalf of the distribution company submits that the petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy available to him and the dispute pertaining to the impugned bill should be raised before the Grievance Redressal Officer under regulation 3.5.1 of the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission.

In view of the alternative efficacious remedy available to the petitioner, I am of the view that the instant petition is not maintainable and the same is dismissed. However, I grant liberty to the petitioner to file a representation before the Grievance Redressal Office within a period of three weeks from date of such representation. The Concerned Authority is requested to consider and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from receipt of such representation after giving a right of hearing to all the parties.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 2453 of 2021 is disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
