The father of the petitioner was an Assistant Teacher at Harikrishna Nagar Free Primary School, a school under Parthar Pratima Circle of the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), District 24-Parganas (South).

On attaining the age of superannuation, the said teacher had retired from his service on November 30, 1989 and had died on March 29, 1995.

On the death of the said teacher, his widow, the mother of the petitioner, used to receive family pension, she had also died on May 26, 2017. The petitioner thereafter being the unmarried daughter of the deceased teacher on November 23, 2023 has applied for family pension. The petitioner is alleging delay in disbursement of such family pension.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned Advocate for the State files an instruction which he has received from the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), 24Parganas (South), the respondent no.4 herein, let it be kept with the record.

The said report dated January 30, 2025 says that by a letter dated January 08, 2025, issued by the Sub-Inspector of Schools, Pathar Pratima Circle of 24-Parganas (South) had requested the petitioner to file documents mentioned in the said letter. A further reminder was issued on February 04, 2025 but, till date, the same has not yet been responded, let those instructions be kept with the record.

Learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that within a week from date the documents so requisitioned would be submitted before the respondent no.4.

The said respondent, on receipt of the said documents, shall take forward steps for processing the prayer of the petitioner for family pension in accordance with law.

WPA 2147 of 2025 is thus disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs. Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities. (Biswajit Basu, J.)
