ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents for establishing a branch of the nationalized bank in Moubeshia Village.

The arguments raised by the learned Counsel for the petitioner is that despite representation made by the petitioner branch of the nationalized bank has not been opened in the vicinity of the village and the

WPA(P)36 of 2021 residents have to travel a distance of about five kilometers to reach the nearest branch.

After hearing learned Counsel for the petitioner, we do not find that any case is made out for interference in the present petition. Opening of bank branch falls within the domain of the licensing authority and the bank which wishes to open the branch. There cannot possibly be direction to either of the aforesaid authorities to open a branch, where the parties wish to have one. In any case distance of five kilometers to the nearest branch cannot be said to be much, which is not accessible to the residents of the village.

The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
