The petitioner prays for a direction upon the OC Chapra Police Station for return of the registered deeds. The Superintendent of Police, Nadia shall take steps in order to ensure that the order dated January 17, 2019 passed by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nadia is complied with, unless there are valid reasons for withholding the deeds.

The relevant portion of the order is quoted below:- "Accordingly, let all the ten deeds as mentioned aforesaid be sent before the Office of the District Registrar, Nadia to return the documents to its legal claimants upon proper verification of the genuineness of the documents as per law and upon proper security of the identification of the claimants and on noting of such return.

OC Chapra P.S. is hereby directed to take the custody of all the aforesaid deeds and hand over its custody to the District Registrar, Nadia upon due noting. OC Chapra P.S. is further directed to comply the order by 31.01.2019 positively.

BC-II is directed to sent a copy of this order to OC Chapra P.S. for prompt action.

BC-II is further directed to sent a copy of this order to the District Registrar, Nadia, for necessary action.

Inform the ld. Advocates on record.

The aforementioned order was passed on the prayer of the persons, from whom the registered deeds were seized. Such request was also forwarded by the District Registrar, Nadia to District Judge, Nadia. A compliance to such effect shall be filed by the Officer-in-Charge, Chapra Police Station before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Nadia. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
