Learned counsel for the State files a report in support of the submission that the arrear claimed by the petitioner has been released on November 19, 2025.

The aforesaid submission is admitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, but he seeks interest on account of delayed payment of arrear claimed on account of refixation of pay in terms of ROPA 2019.

It appears that the payment of the petitioner fell due in the year 2020 and the same has been disbursed in favour of the petitioner only in November 2025.

As the petitioner received the money after considerable delay, accordingly, the respondents

ought to pay interest on account of the same. 5.

In view thereof, the District Inspector of Schools (SE), Howrah is directed to calculate simple interest at the rate of 5% p.a. on the revised pay received by the petitioner on and from the date it fell due till the date of actual payment. Such interest shall be paid to the petitioner at the earliest but positively within March 31, 2026. 6.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Affidavit of service be taken on record.
