Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that although 147 kgs. of ganja was recovered in the present case, but the vehicle was at an abandoned place and the petitioner has been implicated only because of the reason he happens to be registered owner.

Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that ten witnesses have already been examined and State would examine four more witnesses and dates have been fixed on and from 16.02.2026 for evidence of the said four witnesses. Having considered the belated stage at which the petitioner has approached, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, the learned Trial Court would put in efforts so that at the earliest, the verdict of the present case is pronounced.

Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record.

The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 204 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of.
