Apprehending arrest in connection with Ratua P.S. Case No. 247 of 2017 dated 30.05.2017 under Sections 498(A)/306/201/34 of the Indian Penal Code, the present application has been preferred.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated. The petitioner is the mother-in-law of the victim lady and is presently more than 52 years of age. Upon completion of investigation, charge-sheet has also been filed and in the said conspectus, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not necessary.

The learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the petitioner's prayer and submits that the petitioner had

been absconding and there are incriminating materials against her on records.

Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the parties and considering the materials in the case diary, the gravity of the offence and the fact that the petitioner had been absconding for a substantial period of time, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. As such, her prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected. The application for anticipatory bail, being CRM 951 of 2021, is, thus, dismissed.
